But I definitely LOVED Insurgent, and cannot wait for Veronica to write the third book- cause if the apocalypse hits before it's out (Or before Clockwork Princess is out.) I WILL NEVER DIE HAPPY. However, as a quick note, I will say that I definitely enjoyed Divergent a bit more, because it did seem like at some points I was a bit confused about the plot in some cases and had to read back a bit, but then again, I'm a bit of a speed reader, so there's that. (Which technically should be a crime, but whatever.) So I again, highly encourage everyone to run out, and I don't care if you Beg, Borrow, Steal or Take (OK, try not to steal unless it's necessary.) GET YOUR HANDS ON INSURGENT NOW, OR DIVERGENT IF YOU HAVEN'T READ IT YET. So, um, *cough*, obviously, as you can see, there is this MAJOR cliffhanger at the end of Insurgent (One that makes you cry, scream, willing to do ANYTHING to get your hands on the third book.

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Then, when everything seems like it's under control- another tide comes, NO wait, forget that tide, something even bigger hits, and then. So as things go along, the plot is set against Erudite, the final battle breaks out (cause who says there's never a final battle to end these sort of things?)and things. Of course, other minor characters return and help build the story, and really set and create the world. (Not to mention he's also really good-looking. He has to bee one of the amazing boys I've read in YA-lit, what better than a character with his own flaws that he learns from, it shows that he's not one of those perfect, flawless characters that makes girls fall heads over heels for them. even though he doesn't really want to- but for the better good. I refuse to write it down.) and letting go of his prejudice against his dad, depsite the terrible things he did, and learning to trust him. But he did learn to trust and love by the end of this book- forgiving (Spoiler. and he does some pretty unexpected things that really surprised me(and Tris) and I felt like this was another side of him we haven't seen yet- like he was there and not there at the same time. (Also, you'll meets some pretty interesting Divergents in this book! Some, who we've already meet in Divergent.)įour of course is Four- although IMO, I feel like we don't see him as much, or get to know his charcter as well, because, in Divergent, I felt like I knew his character pretty well- then next thing you know, his past is revealed to us. She also learns more about herself- and how her Divergence, truly sets her apart from everyone else. (Now here's someone Bella Swan can learn from.) Those mistakes and flaws make her who she is, and ultimately strenthens her and helps her make the right choice in the long run. I can see the growth of Tris's character throughout this book- she was never much of a child, let alone a TSTL heroine, but I can see her maturing and become on of those unbelievably kick-ass heroines that we all admire. Because- in war, who can you really trust anyways? And would you sacrifice all, including love, to bring the outcome that you think will be best for humanity? We get to see the Dauntless that have survived the sitimulations- Christina, who grieves for the death of Will (People who have read Divergent will understand why this is such a big deal.) and the relationship between Tris and Four begins to get strained. The plot is much more complicated, and there so much more that happens- love, loss, grief, truths of humanity- all in one.īecause of that, speed readers be warned: details might be hard to pick up because of that, and you could become confused slightly. Insurgent has definitely picked up in pacing- there is action in every page, and I am literally gripped my seat at every page- Insurgent is fast paced, breathtaking, and it's bound to be highly emotional. Jeanine Matthews will stop at nothing to stop Tris and Four in succeeding. The stakes have risen higher than ever- Amity refuse to fight alongside with the survivors and the tension is high between Candor and the Dauntless.

Insurgent immediately picks up from where Divergent left on, beginning with Tris, Four, Caleb, Marcus and Peter on the train to Amity headquarters.

Well, Veronica Roth has done it again! Delivering another amazing novel to us: I present, INSURGENT! I know the cliffhanger is killing you, but it's OK.
